when you solo monk, aura of faith won't really help you. in RA/TA/AB you are basically required to run strong red bars go up with woh/patient. don't need such a heavy prot.

for pve, i dunno if it can work, maybe on a hybrid smiter, idk.

for gvg, it's definately awesome. i'm already thinking of combos. :P infuse most likely won't be needed anymore, and sb swaps on the healmonk, woot. :P

again, if it wasn't implied, i dont think this skills is build for low tier, or small arena (although i was awesome in RA with it :P), but i really think GvG and HA is going to meeting me AoF more often.

as for pve... who cares, take what you want :P (jk).

Tried it in AB and liked what I saw.

Works well against stepping sins. Short cast time also makes it usable under daze or migraine.

It's a little weird to use properly - cast Patient then AoF, for e.g., but it's a viable replacement for WoH.

You insist on taking a rez (as a monk) in pugs but you don't think that UA is great now???

AoF might even see some PvE action with the right builds.

Tried it in PvE. Found the recharge too long to get much use out of it. Unlike players, monsters usually wont "put all of their eggs in one basket" where you can stop their entire offensive output with one well-placed prot. AoF + DKiss does a fantastic job of saving the first party member to get in trouble, but leaves you with very few tools on hand to save the second one.

Yes I do because it is an elite and I would rather use something else other than UA unless I am using the persons minion UA build then sure just by killing my teamates and turning them into minions rinse and repeat.

I wouldn't use AoF in PvE as it just to slow on recharge and it is only 3 sec.

It's pretty strong with a heal/prot.

It's useless when you're the only monk.

I ran sb on woh today and aura instead of RC, and if the meta doesnt change to some form of condition pressure, it is clearly superior to RC.

I have played the AoF bar all day today and i can say its clearly OP. I wouldnt be surprised if it gets nerfed. This is in GvG of course.

The only problem so far is massive Degen Pressure and Condition Pressure

I liked it while playing it in ab this weekend, it's nice on a hybrid.. gift of health heals for 255 + df. I agree tho, that woh is stronger in ab/ra. haven't had a chance to gvg with it yet

I think you're right on this, however it will not change in PvE I think.

Considering the meta looks like switching to a smitemonk instead of one of the midliners (and therefore a 3rd condition remover) I might even say win-win situation.

Altough i haven't seen the pro's in PvE yet, neither as solo monk, it clearly is great on a prot(ish) monk in combination with an woh(ish) monk in pvp.

The fact that rc heals is subbed with the bonus heal AoF brings, so even if an dismiss or (smiteboon buffed) smite condition will heal sufficient enough. Only downfall is that it removes only 1 condition each.

Yet i do see a future for AoF in PvP.

Preface: I find the skill and the "possibilites" of its use to be interesting.

With that said, I have yet to see it (in observer mode for GvG) replace the RC monk. So I think the "OMG it's gonna get nurfed" remarks might be premature.

I must admit I am tired of tuning in to see the standard: 2 warriors 1 Ranger (or other Melee) 2 Mesmers 2 monks and a Rit runner--hell you can name the skills each team is bringing. And of course, I am instantly (after two days) tired of seeing "Lameway". Hell it is usually run with half heros...

I would love to see a top guild start flirting with AoF as a realistic option to RC. The meta, of course, only allows so much diversity.

Personally I haven't seen the payoff in TA/RA to warrant bringing AOF. As for PvE, I don't do much of that anymore, but I can see it getting some good use in HM with a dual monk backline (WoH/AoF).

High End Guilds will only be playing sth thats proven strong and probably wont be playing AoF on their Main Guild Until the mAT probably.

Also only because something doesnt see much play doesnt mean its OP, it might not get a nerf but it needs a slight tweak. When u flawless 13 out 16 matches something is clearly wrong.

I am most certainly not attempting to underestimate the value of AoF; still, given ANet's record of belated skill adjustments (aka nerfs) my point stands: it isn't recognizably overpowered therefore why would it be nerfed?

I think AoF is nothing for the solo monk really. Organized PvP is where it shines, coupled with another monk. Think something like this and you got a backline that is very resistant to pressure and can stop standard spikes.

The Prot monk carries Guardian, Aura of Faith and Shield of Absorption. 3 small but highly effective prots to stop pressure damage and spikes. The whole bar contains of 5-energy spells, meaning it wont run out of energy quick.

The Healer monk also carry Guardian, but keeping Protective Spirit as a big prot.
Word of Healing and Patient Spirit for enough healing power, while your prots will reduce alot of damage. Dismiss Condition and Reversal of Fortune on both monks synergizes greatly with Aura of Faith, but consider bringing off-monk condition removal.
